22nd June 2026: Music lovers and pop culture fans, get ready for an exciting new era! Hmv Chelmsford is set to reopen this week within Meadows Shopping Centre.
The opening of the brand-new shop in Chelmsford marks an exciting move back to the area for hmv. After persistent strong demand from customers, and an extensive search for hmv Chelmsford’s next home, the curtain will finally rise on the new shop on Friday 26th June.
With over 20,000 different products on offer across the 3,930 sq. ft unit, the hmv Shop concept is designed to enhance the way fans discover music, film, and TV, offering customers an unrivalled range to explore that includes pop culture merchandise, music, technology, and literature.
Customers will be able to browse 3,000 different vinyl albums, 7,500 different CDs, as well as 5,500 films and TV shows on 4K Ultra HD, Blu Ray and DVD, and a book range featuring new fiction, Young Adult and Manga titles, graphic novels, music biographies as well as a 2 for £9 book offer.
There will also be an extensive range of collectable merchandise on offer, with 3,000 pop culture products and over 200 different T shirt designs available across franchises including Star Wars, KPop Demon Hunters, and Funko POP!
To celebrate the new hmv shop in Chelmsford, the first 25 customers to make a purchase will receive an exclusive goodie bag packed with must have pop culture merchandise.

All shoppers will be able to take advantage of the “hmv delivers” service, which allows customers to order any items not in store to be delivered direct to their door.

Monday to Friday – 9am – 5:30pm
Saturday – 9am – 6pm
