The Meadows are proud to have supported numerous local campaigns and charities over the years and have operated an ‘open door’ policy for members of the community to bring ideas and feedback. Following a difficult year for everyone, but with hope around the corner for a gradual easing of lockdown, the management team feel that the time is right to nominate a ‘charity of the year’. They are inviting local charities large and small to apply to work with them and enlist their support to raise awareness and funds for their chosen cause.
To register an interest for this fantastic opportunity, charities can either request an application form to complete digitally or should supply a separate written overview of the charity, their aims and objectives, details on how working with The Meadows Shopping Centre will benefit their cause, plus what they could offer to the shopping centre, its tenants, and customers. Written applications should be kept to a maximum of one side of A4 and be submitted to or handed in to the Customer Care office in-centre before 17th May. All applications will be shortlisted by the management team and the top three voted on by a panel of managers and incumbent businesses. The winning charity will be announced on 21st June.
In launching the appeal, Sue Patel, General Manager of The Meadows Shopping Centre commented: ‘we are delighted to be offering this opportunity to organisations based in our local community, to provide a platform and location for them to reach out to our visitors, and the chance to build awareness for their chosen charitable cause. I look forward to receiving a range of intriguing and deserving applications ahead of building a mutually beneficial working relationship with the successful charity.’
