'Silencing The Virus' interactive installation

International Sound Artist and Beekeeper Lily Hunter Green and her collaborators invite audiences to 'Silencing the Virus', a unique interactive installation that mixes a virtual virus environment with performance, ecology and digital arts. It has been developed in collaboration with computer scientist Karun Matharu, musician/composer Tom Moore, and molecular scientist Dr Eyal Maori to recreate a hive infected by the Israeli Acute Paralysis Virus, which is rapidly destroying bee colonies throughout the world (the subject of Dr Maori's research at the University of Cambridge).

'Silencing the Virus' evolved from Lily's Sci-Art Residency at The Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge, in 2018. This project has been supported by Arts Council England, Chelmsford City Council, Birkbeck College, University of Cambridge, and Essex Book Festival.

The installation will take place on 30th and 31st March from 11am to 3pm in Unit 5, The Meadows Shopping Centre (next to Warren James).
